Adventure recap

I cannot wait until springtime again. Lately I’ve had a few people asking me what there is to do here or what things they can do with their family and I had to go into my handy dandy archives of this here blog to give them suggestions based on personal experience. I mean this started as an adventure blog, you know. Anyway, in doing so I enjoyed reminiscing while reading and looking at photos of all our adventures – especially in our first year here – and got total wanderlust. I want to dooooo thiiiiinnngggs agaaaiinn! (in case you couldn’t tell, that’s me, whining)

Our adventures slowed down a bit ever since I got knocked up (July 2010) and rightfully so – a) I was pregnant and exhausted, b) I gave birth to a baby, c) we bought a fixer-upper house when we had a 2-month-old and just got it to a good place, d) Ryan started school, e) life just got busy! – but we still managed to do quite a lot. From just small trips to Golden to holiday trips to Winter Park/Tabernash, we have still done something adventure-y at least once a month.

But in case you haven’t been around since the beginning of this blog, I’ll recap what we used to cram into our weekends when we first came here when we were young and spry, heh. I’m talking we went somewhere different Friday, Saturday and Sunday a lot of times.

I mean our winter adventures were just fun (2009/2010):

And just look at all the fun we had in the spring of 2010:

And then all the crazy fun we had in the summer of 2010:

And that’s not even including all our fun mini adventures in beautiful, colorful, quaint Golden.

BUT! Do you want to know what we’ve been up to in 2011/2012? I thought so! Pre-baby/pregnancy:

Post-baby:

Now just in case it seems like I’m forgetting all the fun we have been having during the winter, here are some recent winter adventures I can’t neglect to mention – our Thanksgiving Day hike up South Table Mountain and the perfect hiking day. So it’s not like we have to wait for spring, but still.

As you can see, we’ve had a plethora of adventures in the 2.5 years we’ve been here. And we plan to keep having more – even if they are fewer and farther between.

We be adventurin’,
Laura
